Some sisters were born in families...Some were born in our hearts

I once knew a story of a girl who had a best friend for life. The two of them went through 30 years together.. 30 years of craziness, laughter, tears, fights, marriages, moves, dogs and killer garage sales.

The one friend was a little bit more stable than the other and they both knew it...but she was always supportive and loved her friend through everything. The little friend let her guide her and help her and it never bothered her..she always felt so safe and secure with her forever friend around her. They knew each other so well..they knew what bugged each other about one another but they always got over the fights cause that's what true friends do.

The one friend that had her ducks in a row got really mad one day at her little friend...so mad she didn't ask any questions, call or write...she just left her friend..completely put this friend of 30 years out of her life and never looked back. The little friend respected her friends feelings but couldn't ever understand her leaving her without a glance.

A whole year and then some went by with no contact...each of these friends having huge, life changing events happen in their lives, and both friends not being a part of any of it..any of the things that as little girls playing house they dreamed of, or any of the things that a hopeful mother goes through.

The little friend thought of her favorite friend every day..sometime 3 maybe 11 times a day. She would see something funny and think, "oh I gotta tell her that, she'll love it..." but then quickly remembering, there was no need..her friend didn't care about laughing with her anymore. The days, weeks and months went by..and it actually got better. She wouldn't cry at just the very thought of her or wonder how her friend would have cooked the chicken dish she was making for dinner. No..these things started to subside and she started to think less and less about her longtime friend...but her deep feelings and happy thoughts of her dear friend pop into her head daily..still, just maybe once or twice now...

..and its those times the little friend loves to remember.
